Our selection is served with our authentic Ethiopian bread called Injera – thin spongy pancake like flat bread made mainly of grain known as teff. This grain has very high calcium content, and contains high levels of iron and other minerals. Teff is high in protein, carbohydrates, and fiber.  We also provide rice as an alternative to Injera.

Appetizers

 

1. Timatim Fitfit  ቲማቲም ፍትፍት      4.00

Injera bits mixed with fresh tomato, cilantro, black pepper, onions, and fresh lemon juice. Served cold; best in summer seasons. Mild.

2. Selata (Salad) ሰላጣ   3.50

Fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, tossed with salad home-made dressing. Served cold. Mild.

3. Shorba (Soup) Made with your choice of olive oil or clarified butter. ባ     3.50

Home-made vegetarian soup made with carrot, potato, tomato, onion, ginger root, garlic, and rice.  Served hot; best in winter seasons.   Mild.

4. Sambusa ምቡ      4.00

Pastry crust filled with lentils, green pepper, and onions (3 pieces).   Substitute lentils with beef for just a $1.00 more. Mild.

 

5.  Azifa ፋ      3.50

Lentils, onions, green peppers and lemon juice mixed with Ethiopian mustard (Served Cold). Mild.


Vegetarian Entrees (Our vegetarian menu is 100% vegan.)

Served with two sides – Gomen (Collard Greens) and Selata (Salad).

Potatoes, green beans, and carrots stewed with ginger root, and garlic, seasoned with tasty herbs and spices. Mild.

Red split lentils cooked with onions, garlic, and ginger root with spices and red chili pepper powder (Berbere). Hot*.

13. Misir Alicha   ምስር አልጫ    9.45

Red split lentils cooked with garlic, onions, green pepper, ginger root, oil, seasoned with turmeric and other tasty herbs and spices. Mild.

14. Kik Kei Wat  ክክ ቀይ ወጥ    9.45

Split peas cooked with onions, garlic, and ginger root, seasoned with red chili pepper powder (Berbere) and spices. Hot*.

15. Kik Alicha  ክክ አልጫ    9.45

Split peas cooked with garlic, onions, green pepper, and ginger root, seasoned with herbs and spices. Mild.

16. Cabbage Wat ጥቅል ጎመን    9.45

Cabbage stewed with onions, garlic, ginger root, seasoned with various herbs and spices. Mild.

17. Gomen  ጎመን    9.45

Fresh collard greens cooked with onions, garlic, ginger root and a blend of delicious herbs and spices. Mild. (Choose a side.)

18. Shiro Wat ሽሮ ወጥ    9.45

Sun dried peas and beans ground and cooked with red chili pepper powder (Berbere), onions, garlic, and ginger, seasoned with various herbs and spices. Medium.

19. Spinach የፈረንጅ ጎመን    9.45

Fresh spinach stewed with onions, garlic, and spices. Mild.

Redi-et special soup made with coconut milk, bell paper, tomato, cilantro, onion, green onion, ginger root, garlic, rice, and special spices. Served with two sides. Mild.

33. Kitfo  ክት    13.50

Freshly minced extra lean beef seasoned with Mitmita (spiced chili power) and clarified butter sauce. Cooked to order and served with two sides of selata and gomen.

34. Alicha Siga Bedinich   አል ስጋ በድንች     12.00

Lean choice beef cubes and potato cuts stewed with onions, ginger root, spiced Ethiopian butter and spices, and seasoned with turmeric. Mild.

Served on a special clay plate sizzling with live heat (embers); savory lean choice beef cubes diced and sautéed with onion, tomato, bell pepper, spiced Ethiopian butter, rosemary, and seasoning. Mild.
